Mana Common reports that Ken Griffin acquired approximately 30 acres of its Wynwood assemblage for approximately $1.1 billion, closing September 29, 2026, as the site of a planned Carnegie Mellon University campus.
Carnegie Mellon announced a $3 billion gift from Griffin, including $2 billion to build a Miami campus of about 35 acres, about 0.4 miles from this property. CMU expects construction to begin in 2027, graduate students in 2028, and an undergraduate class in 2032, pending regulatory approvals.
